It were an exciting few days at FELIDA. Four animals received a thorough medical check-up and dental treatments. First up was lion Diego. X-rays showed that he needed root canal treatment in one of his canines. The specialised animal dentists at the Danish TandDyreklinikken did this immediately. The next patient was lioness Manuschka. Her teeth appeared to be in worse shape than Diego's. The images showed that the vets needed to seal one tooth and that two canines needed root canal treatment. This was also done immediately by the animal dentists.  

The day after the medical check of lions Diego and Manuschka, it was the turn of tigresses Kenya and Samba. At 14 years old, the ladies are already of an advanced age and having lived in a too-small circus trailer for a long time before being rescued, we know that their health is vulnerable. That is why it was even more important to check them and get a better understanding of their current health status.

The brave Kenya was first to be examined. During her medical check, our veterinary team discovered that she needed to have one of her canine extracted. This treatment is more complex, but important for her long-term health and luckily the dentist team of TandDyreKlinikke was fully prepared to ensure the procedure went well. Samba was next and fortunately only required a root canal. Both ladies were extensively examined by the veterinarians and then safely returned to indoor enclosure where they could wake up in a warm bed of straw. 

After the medical check, all four animals woke up well in a warm bed of straw in their heated indoor enclosure. Diego, Manuschka, Samba and Kenya are already enjoying the beautiful spring days in their outdoor enclosure again.
